What Causes a Double Chin?
Genetics, Age, Posture
Genetics: Also known as submental fat — this is a common occurrence that happens when a layer of fat forms below your chin. Often associated with weight gain yet… you don’t have to have excess weight to have one.
Age: As we age, our skin’s collagen and elastin get thinner and weaker. These proteins cause skin to sag, including the skin under the jaw. Face yoga and facial exercises help not only the muscles but also can help increase collagen and increase blood flow.
Posture: Bad posture can weaken neck and chin muscles over time. The skin also loses elasticity if the muscles aren’t used frequently. This is why Face Yoga works for this area!
